The vast majority of prescription drugs received by patients are safe. However, given the number of potential players in the supply chain and the differences in regulations and laws worldwide covering each of them, there is a great risk that dangerous counterfeit and adulterated drugs can be introduced into supply. The track and traceability of these products is the key to reducing and eliminating this risk. The serialisation of a product is the first step in a complete Track & Trace programme.
